Friday Favorites Starts with my New Favorite Boots

posted in:

After a week of interacting with you all on Instagram and here on the blog, I love to cap off Friday by sharing with you my recent favorites! These are things that I’m absolutely loving (and most likely have used/read/watched/done well more than once throughout the week!). Let’s jump right into it with… THESE BOOTS!

Nisolo Leather Booties

My brother so kindly gifted these boots to me for Christmas this past year. I received a lot of questions about them this week when I shared this blog post. I would’ve shared them much earlier but unfortunately, the company accidentally sent the wrong size of each shoe (despite the box and receipt both saying they were the size he ordered). Now that I’ve finally gotten them though I just can’t get enough of them! They’re SO GREAT! Not only do I love the way that they look but they are so well made. I can’t get over their leather smell. I also find them extremely comfortable! Much more comfortable than other booties that I own/owned. They fit me true to size. If you plan on wearing them with chunky socks all the time, I would consider going a half size up.

I know they are a bit on the pricey end but I also know I will own a pair of shoes like these for literally decades. With that in mind, I’d rather pinch my pennies and invest in a pair that will last for that duration (or be fortunate enough to have a brother that gifts things like this) versus buying a lower quality alternative.

The Bible Recap

Around the beginning of 2020 I started this plan to read through the entire Bible in a year. It has been my goal to do this for so many years in the past and I’ve failed every time. What I love about this plan specifically though is that it’s designed to go through the Bible chronologically and it also has a short corresponding podcast episode for each day which provides an easy to understand explanation of what we just read. Sometimes I can read a chapter and be like, “What in the world did I just read?” The podcast episodes help SO MUCH with those questions! To read and listen to the podcast takes me less than 30 minutes a day.

If you want to join us in the study, you’re more than welcome! Here’s what you’ll do.

  • Friend me on the Bible app by searching “Jordan Tupta”.
  • I’ll invite you to the study!
  • Go to your podcast app and subscribe to the Bible Recap podcast

Each day this is what you’ll do:

  • Read the assigned reading for the day.
  • Go to your podcast app and listen to the podcast corresponding to that day’s reading.

This Dress

The weather in South Carolina has been all over the place! One day is really cold and the next it’s in the 70s. Is it like that where you are? With that in mind and the fact that recently I prefer to wear things that are more flowy/roomy, I got this dress from Pink Blush Maternity to wear as we transition seasons and as this baby grows (and because I really needed options to wear for more ‘formal’ occasions aka church). It would also be perfect for non-maternity as well! The fabric is so soft and the dress is really flattering.

Friday Favorites

The Blacklist

Do any of you watch The Blacklist? Stephen and I can’t get enough of it. We don’t have cable so normally we just watch it when it comes out on Netflix. We just finished season 6 though and we couldn’t stop watching it so we started watching season 7 on the NBC app. Goodness it’s SO GOOD! We would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a new show (and if you’re into the action/crime type of genre!).

What I’m Currently Reading

Remember how I mentioned that I wanted to finish all of the Harry Potter books in 2019? I failed with that. I am not far from finished though!! I’m about halfway through the sixth book and while it’s not getting me as excited as The Order of the Phoenix, I still enjoy reading it. As I’m finishing the books, we’ve been watching the movie and then I read the next, we watch the movie, and so on. This has been so fun because I’m able to see the differences in the book and movie right away and Stephen and enjoy talking about them.

Sous Vide

For Valentine’s Day today, Stephen and I are making some filet mignon in the sous vide that my brother gave him for Christmas. I’ve already received so many messages about it today since showing it in my Instagram stories so I wanted to make sure to link it all here for you! We’re really excited to taste the final product tonight. I know so many people swear by this cooking technique for meat (my brother especially who knows is way around some great food), I’m certain it’ll be delicious!

Friday Favorites

There you have it! Those are my favorites for the week! I hope you all have an amazing Friday, weekend, and Valentine’s Day!! See you Monday!
