Hi! Happy Saturday! I know I don’t typically post on the weekend but with all of the craziness this week I haven’t had the chance to get this post out. Since fall is on the horizon I think it’s time we start talking about fall capsule wardrobes! If you’re new to capsule wardrobes, you can read about it here and here.
In the next few weeks I’m going to share examples of capsule wardrobes from some of my favorite stores. I know there are quite a few of you out there that want to try out a capsule but don’t know where to start or need inspiration so I hope this really helps! Everything I share is exactly what I would have in my own capsule which means that it will fit my style (of course) but it also won’t break the bank (and is 99% of the time on sale). This week I’m starting with J. Crew Factory. It’s one of my favorite places to shop because I love their style, I can wear their pieces year after year, and they always have good sales.
In case you need a reminder: a capsule wardrobe is a method to reduce your wardrobe down to only pieces that you love (that fit your lifestyle and body right now), that are easily re-wearable, and allows you to shop less often and more purposefully. You can read more about my HOW and WHY I use capsule wardrobes here.
Here is the capsule I’ve curated for fall with items all from J. Crew Factory. There are 6 tops, 2 outerwear pieces, 2 pants, 1 skirt, and 2 shoes. With only 13 items I was easily able to create 16 (there are definitely many more!) cute outfits for the season that can be dressed up or down. That’s with only 13 items!!! That’s less than half of the typical 37-40ish you’ll find in most capsule wardrobes.
