Friday Favorites No. 9

posted in:

HAPPY FRIDAY! I can’t tell you guys how happy I am that it’s finally here. Granted, I had a good week traveling for work but I’m exhausted and excited to relax for a bit while spending time with my hubs and pup. Since I haven’t had the chance to do one of these in a while, I have a lot to share! There is a long list of things that have been bringing me joy recently including home décor, clothes, cleaning products, etc. so let’s get on with my Friday Favorites (affiliate links below for your convenience).

After I landed last night, I went to Target and in typical fashion, I found something I loved. I originally wasn’t going to get them but I caved and picked two of these pillows up. YOU GUYS! They are all. the. things. I love the rich tones, the velvet-like texture of the front, and how they look with our existing greenery/pale oranges fall decor. The back has a white linen material that goes really beautifully with our white Ektorp chair and leather Ektorp sofa. The best part is that I know I’ll be able to use these for years all around our house.

Did you all know the TJ Maxx sells home décor online? If not, you’re missing out! I have found so many great things online with them (at a much cheaper price of course) and if I end up not liking it, I can just bring it into your local store. Easy peasy. Anyway, I purchased these sheets for our guest bed about a month ago and love them. They look great with our existing quilt (I love this one) and are very soft. I get asked often about white sheets and how to keep them clean… Oxi Clean and bleach from time to time do the trick for us. I personally think it’s actually easier to clean white sheets versus colored ones because I’m terrified of bleaching colored items.

Speaking of Oxi Clean… THIS STUFF IS THE BEES KNEES! I mentioned on stories a couple of weeks ago about our troubles with laundry detergent. Basically… We stunk. We were using the same detergent that my mom has used my entire life but for some reason it was not cutting it here in South Carolina. I picked this stuff up after spending probably 30 minutes in the laundry aisle trying to decide (WHY IN THE HECK IS THAT STUFF SO EXPENSIVE??) and I’m so glad I decided on this one. Our clothes look brighter, it’s doing a great job removing stains, and it smells like heaven. I’ve been keeping the laundry room door open recently while running the laundry because it smells that good. While you’re snagging yourself those pillows from Target go ahead and add this to your order (it was actually cheaper on Target’s site compared to what I paid at Walmart). HA! It’s worth it.

I’ve been a fan for Bar Keepers Friend for a long long time but I love it even more after using it to clean our farmhouse sink. I noticed that it was starting to stain even despite our stainless racks that protect the bottom so I tried this. It worked wonders and made the sink look brand spankin’ new! I’m also going to use it on our bathroom sinks when I give them a deep clean this weekend. By the way, this also works amazingly as a jewelry cleaner (like Alex & Ani bracelets…)! 😉

We all know I love pumpkin so when I saw this scent hit the shelves, it should be no surprise I snagged some. I knew that it would sell out if I didn’t and sure enough, I was right (at least at my Target). It’s still available online though! Both the cleaner and dish soap small just like fall to me. The cleaner works well on our quartz countertops, kitchen table, etc. and I honestly haven’t noticed a difference between our usual Dawn dish soap and this one. It just smells much better of course! I saw someone complaining about the smell of the hand soap on Instagram but since I didn’t buy any, I can’t speak on it. I love the smell but everyone is different!

By the way, I have cake batter on my arm in the photos below. It made me laugh out loud when I spotted it. Apparently I needed to clean my arm more than the counter…

I had so much fun creating this post last week in the midst of running from hurricane Florence. I loved receiving feedback from a lot of you on the next store I should do this with! If you still have requests, feel free to message me! I had multiple people request Target so I’m definitely going to do that next and I can’t wait to share it with you. I found so many cute things in the store last night. Keep your eyes peeled for that post coming soon!

J. Crew Fall Capsule Wardrobe

This one is a big deal for me. I have always struggled to find jeans that I love. I had a favorite pair from Express that I wore for years but I eventually got a hole in them and haven’t been able to find another pair that I liked as much since then. Well, after searching for the past two years, I FINALLY found a pair that I love love love at a place I least expected and haven’t shopped at since… Middle school? They are bootcut which isn’t as common anymore but I personally like wearing them more with my Clarks, at work, and working outside compared to skinny jeans. They have a liberal amount of stretch to them so they are really comfortable, they are very flattering, and are great quality. I purchased them in the medium wash and they go with everything! I was worried they would sit too low on my hips but they don’t at all. They hold everything in very nicely! I’m really impressed with them. So much so that I’m going to order this pair and this pair as skinny options for fall. They would be perfect with some tall boots or booties!

If you’re interested in getting a pair for yourself, I would order them soon. I just noticed that a lot of sizes are sold out because all jeans are buy one get one half off right now. You can also get 25% your entire purchase by using code 11700 + free shipping over $75.
  • The Blacklist

A new season is up on Netflix! WOOOO! You can most likely find me and Stephen binging the episodes on the couch this weekend. We’re so excited. If you haven’t watched it, you should! It’s so good.

I hope you all have a really great weekend! As always, thank you so much for the support.

with joy
