Friday Favorites No. 6

posted in:

To be honest, I forgot tomorrow was Friday. The first thing I saw when I woke up on Monday morning was a news article about the terrible, horrific violence that occurred in Vegas Sunday night. That entire day I think I was in shock. I was so upset that I was actually mad at the rest of the world for continuing on with life as normal. Am I the only one that felt that way? It’s just so so heartbreaking to me. My thoughts and prayers continue to be with Vegas.

Per usual, I don’t know where the rest of the week went but now we are already welcoming Friday with open arms. Despite the heartbreaking news I think it’s really important to seek out things that bring joy to our lives, no matter how big or small they might be. With that said, here are my favorites of the week-

  • Neutrogena T/Sal Shampoo

To be honest I really wish I didn’t have to use this shampoo whatsoever. However, my friend let me borrow it since my head has been so itchy and scaly the last couple of months. This stuff has been a LIFESAVER. When I was growing up my Dad made me use the T/Gel (linked below) which also worked really well but I thought it smelled like moth balls. The T/Sal, however, doesn’t really have much of a scent at all. Trust me, if I did I would be the first to tell you. It has helped tremendously with the redness around my scalp, the itchiness, and definitely the scales on my scalp.

Whenever I use it I lather it into my hair and let it stay on my head for about 5 minutes before rinsing it out. I try to wash my hair only 3-4 times a week and I usually use this every other wash. I know it’s frowned upon to wash hair that often but my scalp is absolutely terrible if I don’t so ya do what ya gotta do.

I’m definitely going to try the Derma-E scalp relief shampoo next! Even though the T/Sal is working well for me, I LOVE Derma-E products and have heard great things about that shampoo. I’ll definitely let you all know what I think about it after I try it out!

  • THESE SHOES!

You all… I found these shoes at Target and they have my name written all over them. I’ve gotten so many questions about them so here’s the link! I wore them out this morning for breakfast with some joggers and they were perfect. They’ll also be really cute with skinny jeans. I definitely suggest wearing them with no-show socks though! I don’t have any so I went barefoot in them… Whoops.

I’m fairly certain this could easily make the favorites list every week for the next 6ish weeks. I went to Lowe’s the week and got some Hokie colored mums to add to the front door decorations as well as an Evergreen + Spruce candle there for $6. That’s some of the best money I’ve ever spent. That candle is amazing! This time of year makes my heart giddy.

  • Stephen

This man is truly something else. He EASILY could be in my favorites list every week but after tonight especially he definitely needs to be on here. He had me laughing so hard. We took Adi to Petco to get her last shot for a while (WOOO!) and while we were there she introduced herself to so many people. The only problem with it is that Adi “tinkles” a little every time she meets someone new. She just gets so excited that the poor little thing can’t hold her bladder. Anyway, Stephen cleaned up after her six times. Finally, I took her outside to try to get her to go and we walked around a bit while Stephen paid. As soon as he walked out Adi decided to take a massive dump, for lack of a better word, on the concrete. His face was too stinking funny. After cleaning it up he said to her, “You’re lucky I love you…”

  • Question of the week-

I’m preparing content for the holiday season (I’m literally smiling while typing that it makes me so excited). Is there anything specific you want for me to share? Comment below or comment on my last Instagram post! I’d love to hear your input!
