Hi! I hope you all have had a great week. I figured I’d close it out by sharing things that I’m/we’re currently saving for. Stephen and I stick to a budget and refuse to have any debt other than our mortgage (which we also are trying to pay off as quickly as we possibly can) so buying more expensive items sometimes require for us to save for a bit before purchasing.
Let me make something very clear – there is no shame in admitting you need to save up for something. Maybe I’m the only one that feels this way but I believe the vast majority of our society feels like they have something to prove or are embarrassed of saving and will therefore make purchases that force them into debt (or further into debt). I get it!!! That was once me!! Heck, even now I still struggle with that desire from time to time (especially when something I want is on “sale”). What I’ve learned though is that debt is not worth it. Also, saving up for something and really taking the time to think through the purchase not only avoids impulse buys but it has also taught me to really appreciate what we spend our hard earned money on.
With all of that in mind, here is what I’m currently saving for. Some things are flat out wants while others are “needs” or probably the better way of saying it – things that make life easier/more “comfortable” for us.
Bao Bei Sculpt & Support Maternity Leggings – At this point I’m starting to get pretty uncomfortable in the leggings that I own just because of their compression around the waist area (which I loved pre pregnancy!). I learned about Bao Bei years ago and always told myself that when I do get pregnant, I will get myself a pair of their leggings. I recommended them to many friends during our years of waiting and they swear by them!
Lotta Clogs – I know these aren’t going to be everyone’s cup of tea but I think they’re so fun and versatile! I’ve been a clog fan since I was a little. I’d love to wear these over the summer with dresses and with jumpsuits in the fall!
Rothy’s Sneakers – I have been eyeing Rothy’s for months and months now. I love their mission, that they’re crafted from recycled water bottles, and that they can simply be thrown into the wash and they’ll come out looking brand new. I’m really torn between the coral/pinky color and THESE cheetah ones. One of my best friends has the classic white which is also an amazing option! I know that I’d easily get my monies worth with any color I choose.
Nuna Grow Stroller – Stephen and I have done a lotof research on baby stuff in the past month or so and we know that we want to get the Nuna Grow stroller. I’m going to do an entire post to explain the long list of reasons why so be on the lookout for that. It is an investment though and we can’t fathom someone spending that amount on us so we agreed that we aren’t going to put it on our registry and just save up for it ourselves.
Bao Bei Maternity & Nursing Bralette – This one is a relatively inexpensive item but since I am saving up for the leggings I’m just going to buy everything at once to save on shipping. I most likely will get multiple of these bralettes! I prefer this style bra over anything else anyway and I love that these can be worn before, during, and after pregnancy AND they’re nursing-friendly. The more I can avoid pregnancy specific items, the better! That way I can get more use out of whatever it is and create less waste.
There you have it! If you guys enjoy posts like these I’d love to know! Maybe it can be something I do more often. Thank you all so much the support! I hope you have a great weekend.
