We’ve taken a little bit of time off from doing any big projects around the house these past two months because of our budget and (lack of) time. This past weekend though, we spent a lot of time in the car while traveling and talked about all of the projects we want to tackle in the upcoming months. One of them is the guest bedroom. Here’s how it looks right this second –
We purchased a lot of what is in this room randomly over time. The bed was purchased on clearance on whim (because the deal was that good), the nightstands we found at a thrift shop in Arizona, and the TV console was purchased in Arizona when we agreed it was time to upgrade from a TV on Tupperware bins HA! I know this room has plenty of potential with the things we already have so I went on the hunt for a little bit of inspiration for this room. I want it to feel cozy for our guests while remaining functional for us (mainly speaking about the closet here) and also stay within the ‘modern farmhouse’ vibes of our home.
Here are a few inspiration pictures that immediately bring me joy. They are bright and airy and make me feel all cozy inside which is perfect because they also all have one thing in common – a rod iron bed. Actually, I just laughed out loud when I realized that not only do they all have a rod iron bed but they all have the exact same one. HA! Like I mentioned earlier, we purchased ours on clearance for a really great deal (under $100) so it’s not the exact same but I think it’ll be just fine!
I love the natural wood nightstands and the black sconces. Oh, and of course the white shiplap wall to contrast it all.
I love the simplicity of this space (and the rest of Lisa’s home!). Everything about this space screams farmhouse to me. She also has a really great shiplap tutorial if you want to tackle a wall yourself!
If you’ve ever looked up farmhouse bedrooms on Pinterest I’m sure you’ve seen this one. While this one doesn’t have a shiplap wall, I love how the windows frame the bed AND the trim work on the windows! How beautiful! The room is once again very simple but if you couldn’t tell I’m loving simple now more than ever. Also, how amazing is that chandelier?! And the greenery she added to it?! How sweet.
Ah… One of my all time favorite rooms. I never can get over how dreamy this space feels to me. I love everything about it… The lace curtains, the shiplap, the ruffle bedspread, the light fixture, even the old stool and bench (or should I say especially the old stool and bench HA!)! If you haven’t checked out the rest of Liz’s beautiful home you should!
In case you want to snag one of these beds for yourself, here it is (affiliate links for your convenience):
