Hi guys! I hope you’re having a great day so far. If not, I hope this maybe can lift your spirits a little bit. This is a super simple DIY that I put together during the holiday’s to give as gifts. This body butter was so well received/loved by everyone that I gave it to that I wanted to make sure you all could make this yourself if you wanted. It’s really simple and can easily be customized to fit the season/your skin needs. It also works great for growing bellies!
This recipe utilizes Young Living essential oils, which is the brand that we use and love in our home. I can’t speak on how this will work with others. If you want to know more about why we started using essential oils and switched over to products that do not contain toxins, you can read about that HERE.
On the stove, melt down the shea butter, coconut oil, and vitamin E oil in a medium sauce pan until completely melted.
Add the vanilla and the melted shea butter mixture to a medium sized bowl. Mix until combined.
Place the bowl in the fridge for 1-2 hours. The mixture should be hardening but not completely solid. I suggest setting a timer to check it every 30 minutes.
Add the mixture into a blender with a whisk attachment, add the arrowroot powder and peppermint drops.
Blend for about 20 minutes until the mixture is white and fluffy.
Add the body butter into a large plastic bag, cut the tip, and pipe the butter into each jar OR scoop the butter into each jar.
Add a label to the top of each jar and enjoy or give!
Remember, this body butter recipe is completely customizable! Swap the vanilla and peppermint with Stress Away and Lime essential oils, Gentle Baby essential oil on its own, or Lavender and Cedarwood essential oils. There is an endless number of combinations you can make.
