Dinner Menu + Shopping List – Week 2

posted in:

Menu and Shopping List 2Happy Friday! Here is the menu for the week and all of the ingredients you’ll need. Per usual, pretty much everything we have on the menu is from Budget Bytes. I don’t think that will be changing anytime soon… We just love these recipes so much and they’re of course super budget friendly. Her website and app are also amazing too! Considering what we already had in our fridge and pantry, we only needed a few things so we spent less than $50 for the week on groceries.

On the Menu:

The ingredients list below is based on a 4-6 servings per meal. That’s how most of the recipes are structured on Budget Bytes and you all said that’s what would be best for you so that’s what I’m doing! You can cut the recipes in half or double/triple etc. if you’d like.

Shopping List:

Don’t forget about the free printable here!

Vegetables:

  • 2 handful – Cilantro
  • 8 – Sliced Green Onion
  • 10 oz – Frozen Spinach (or fresh… Either works!)
  • 1 – Medium Sweet Potato
  • 1/2 T – Ginger
  • 2 cloves – Garlic
  • Salad Bags/Lettuce (except not romaine right now!)

Fruits:

None necessary for dinner this week but we always pick some up for lunches/snacks.

Meat:

  • 3 – Skinless Chicken Breasts or ~1-1 1/2 lb Tenderloins (Frozen works just fine)
  • 2 lb – Beef Roast

Canned Goods:

  • 2 1/2 C – Marinara Sauce
  • 1 can – Cranberry Sauce

Dry Goods:

  • 1/3 C + 2 T – Brown Sugar
  • 2 C – All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 T – Baking Powder
  • 1/4 t – Baking Soda
  • 1 T – Granulated Sugar
  • 1 T – Cornstarch

Frozen Foods (basically things we just keep on hand in the freezer):

  • Stir Fry Vegetables (we get a huge bag of them at Costco and keep them on hand in the freezer) Frozen
  • Lasagna (like I said, Costco is hands down the best. I’m convinced that stuff would win up against some of the “best of the best” in a blind taste test)
  • Frozen Vegetables
  • Frozen Loaf of Garlic Bread (or you can make it at home too!)

Dairy:

  • 1 1/2 stick – Butter
  • 3 – Eggs
  • 15 oz – Ricotta Cheese
  • 1 C – Mozzarella
  • 1/4 C – Grated Parmesan
  • 3/4 C – Milk

Condiments:

  • 1/2 C + 2 T – Soy Sauce
  • 2 T – Sriracha
  • Nonstick Spray
  • 8 oz – Catalina Dressing
  • 1 t – Toasted Sesame Oil

Spices:

  • 1/2 t – Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
  • Salt & Pepper
  • 1 packet – Dry Onion Soup Mix (you know… the one’s that come in the blue box!)
  • 1 T – Sesame Seeds

Grains:

  • 8 oz – Lo Mein Noodles (or any noodles you have on hand… We just used Angel Hair Pasta)
  • 1 lb – Lasagna Noodles
  • Rice (however much you want! You’ll need this for the cranberry chicken and the sesame beef)

Now go spend less time planning + shopping and go do what you LOVE!

All of the beautiful photos are from Budget Bytes.
