Happy Wednesday! The past couple of weeks have been wild with work and planning for our sweet friend’s baby shower. I’m so excited to share these pictures with you all!
A few months ago we found out that our good friends, Alex and Cody, are expecting their second baby girl in March. Since we were all going to be scattered across the country (and world) at that time, we figured we should celebrate together now while we can. The Malone’s will be stationed in Duluth, Minnesota where it is cold cold cold for the vast majority of the year. With that in mind, I thought it would be cute and just a little humorous to throw them a winter wonderland baby shower. With winter decor all around, a soup bar, and a hot cocoa bar, I think we just might’ve hit the nail on the head with this one.
Did I mention it was all a surprise?! Cody, Alex’s husband, knew all about it of course but the entire class managed to keep this little secret from Alex for the past two months. I was so impressed we actually did it. She had absolutely no idea about it so it was even more special when she walked in and realized the entire thing was for them and baby Olivia.
I unfortunately didn’t get as many pictures as I would’ve liked because we were all so excited once Alex arrived. Oh well! Hopefully you get the picture… Anyway, I’m all about the little details! There were “melted snowflakes” labeled water bottles, wintery named labels for the food, and s’more favors with labels that said, “Adding s’more love to the squadron!” Stephen and I spent the week getting all of them ready and I think they were really appreciated. I believe that a venue could be absolutely terrible but if the party is fun and there are little details scattered throughout, it’s one special party.
I was so happy with how the balloon garland came out. There will be a tutorial coming soon! You could seriously make one of these for any occasion. It was so perfect and we received compliments on it all night. Props to my handsome husband for blowing up all of the balloons! Would you all also be interested in a water bottle label tutorial? Everyone was so amazed by them and they really didn’t take me long at all. Like I said… It’s the little things! Let me know if there are any other things you want to learn how to do or have questions about!
We can’t wait to meet you, baby Olivia!
