Hi friends! Today I’m sharing with you all how to make DIY Clay Ornaments, inspired by Nesting with Grace. They’re super easy to make and is another great activity to do with kids! Just like the DIY marble ornaments, you could use these as ornaments or gift tags/toppers. The best part is that they make great diffusers! Add a drop of your favorite essential oil and let the smell linger. I personally love using Christmas Spirit and Peppermint on the ornaments hanging in front of the fire and pine on the ornaments hanging on the tree. They make the whole living room smell like Christmas!

What You’ll Need:

• Oven bake clay
• Cookie/biscuit cutters (we used THESE from Hobby Lobby)
• Stamps (THESE look really fun!)
• Rolling pin
• Toothpick or dowel
• Baking sheet
• Yarn or ribbon
• Optional: essential oils

What To Do:

• Unwrap the clay from the packing and “warm it up” by working it with your hands until it softens a bit to roll out
• Using the rolling pin or a smooth cup/water bottle roll out the clay to about 1/4″ thick
• Cut out shapes using the cookie cutters or add your favorite stamps and then cut them out using the cutter
• Don’t forget to make a hole in the top of the ornament using a toothpick or dowel to have a place to run the yarn/ribbon through!
• Place on a baking sheet and bake at 275F for 15 minutes
• Hang using yard or ribbon and add a drop of your favorite essential oil!
• We were able to make 29 small ornaments with the 8 oz. package of clay

We hung them off of a wooden bead garland that we’ve had for a few years. I love THIS ONE from Target too! I think the fire makes the essential oils smell even better.
