You might see this post pop up and think, “Jordan… Fans? Seriously?!” But I’m actually really excited about this, you guys! I’ve really been itching to share the entire process involved with putting our own “style stamp” on this new home of ours and well, the fan is something I need to decide on soon so I figured hey! Let’s start sharing all of this NOW! I hope you all enjoy these! I value your opinion immensely so if there’s anything in particular you want to know about how we’re designing/decorating please let me know!

Before I get into this I probably should clear one thing up – I don’t like ceiling fans. But do you know what else I (we) don’t like? Sleeping in the heat. Stephen and I created a habit of using the fan every single night in Phoenix (no surprise there) so when we designed this house we had the electrical installed to enable a fan in our room. It was going to be an extra charge to add in a fan that was not-so-pretty (it was quite ugly actually) so I was hopeful that we’d be able to find something on our own that was along the lines of our style and within our budget. My desire to have a beautiful light fixture has recently started to creep in but Stephen is very adamant about having a fan so along I went with my research…

I’ve searched for hours and hours to find fans that are along the lines of what we’re going for in our master bedroom. Which if I had to describe in a few words it would be cozy, vintage, classy with hints of farmhouse vibes (hence the modern farmhouse title). I want it to be a place we love to come home to. Of course that’s how I feel in general about the entire house but we really value the bedroom and what it symbolizes in a marriage so I’m trying to reflect that in this space!

Did I mention that I’m not really a fan of how fans look? But Stephen is all about it and I’m all about making him happy so I’ll work to find a fan that is pretty and fits within our budget. Needless to say, I’ve searched for a few days now and to much surprise, I’m actually pretty fond of every single one of these! I have yet to pull the trigger on any of them yet since I have a few in particular that I’m weighing back and forth between. Most importantly, I haven’t seen Stephen long enough this week for him to pick one out so when I do we will make the decision together!
