A couple of months ago, I received a gift that changed mine and Stephen’s life. It was from Rhya, who is one of the closest people I have to a sister. I practically grew up on the farm with her and her sister, Dakota. They have always and will forever be a constant in my life which is why they’ve known about this journey we were on from the beginning. Rhya especially knew how tough some months were for me. In the letter she wrote to me she shared about how she was researching all over to figure out if she should get me something to help or provide encouragement somehow through the waiting. Everything she read said not to but she decided not to listen to them. I’m so thankful for that.
In the box were two books, a necklace, and a letter. When I opened the box and read the letter I started to cry. It wasn’t until I saw the necklace from Seeded Hope though that I started to sob. In Matthew chapter 17:20, Jesus tells his disciples when they ask why they couldn’t heal a demon-possessed boy, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” If you have faith – even as small as a mustard seed – NOTHING is impossible with Christ. Since that day when I put the necklace on, it hasn’t come off (I do suggest removing it for showers though! I learned that the hard way!). If I ever start to let fear or doubt creep into my heart and mind, I am reminded by the necklace that HE CAN MOVE MOUNTAINS, you guys! I just have to keep my faith. Even if it’s as small as a mustard seed. Stay rooted in your faith.
I can’t get enough of Seeded Hope. Their company, story, and owner, Amy, are all incredibly beautiful. If I could get a necklace or key chain (great for men!) for everyone, I would. I spoke with Amy and she offered to give away a free piece to one of you! I wasn’t kidding when I said she’s beautiful! Head over to my Instagram to enter.
I looked at the books and was excited to start reading them. I knew that I wanted to read them together with Stephen but also expected resistance like, “Noooo! I have other books I want to read.” Fortunately, I didn’t really get that from him! Before going to bed one night, we sat down and started reading together. That night sparked something in our walk with God together that I can’t quite explain. I read a chapter to Stephen and then he read another two to me. The only reason why we stopped reading was because we had to get up early for work the next day. Otherwise, we might’ve finished the entire thing.
We believe in every word of Supernatural Childbirth and can 100% say that it changed not only the way we approached this infertility journey, but also our faith. It changed our lives. For that reason, we’d suggest any of you that are expecting or trying to read this book. Maybe you’ve been told you can never have kids? Maybe you’ve given up hope? Please please please read this book. We believe it can bless you as much as it did us.
Since we finished the book, we’ve continued to re-read it together at night before we go to bed. No matter how many more months we have to wait, we will keep reading it. When we get pregnant, we will keep reading it. If we have it memorized someday, even better! We want to fully know and live out every word.
Yesterday on Instagram I asked for book recommendations for women/couples that are expecting or trying. I’ve already received a few people recommending this book! I’m going to compile the entire list and post it on here too for you all. If you have anymore, send them my way and I’ll add them to the list!
As always, let me know if you have any questions and thank you SO MUCH for the support!
Rhya, thank you for being a bright light in our lives and for this gift. Since I was five, you’ve been pushing me to grow. This gift though was the biggest and greatest gift I could’ve ever received. I’ve grown more in the past few months than in years combined because of it. Stephen too! We’re so thankful.
[…] Supernatural Childbirth – we read this front to back I think four times before we even found out that I was pregnant. It’ll always be a book that we go back to. It’s just chock-full of truth and life-giving words to speak over your pregnancy and delivery. I also talked about it HERE. […]
[…] and I continue to read Supernatural Childbirth together. I can’t recommend that book enough! It mentions in there […]
